Disposables

February 22, 2009

I really like disposable cameras. The photos they create have this colour and look to them that I adore. In the Netherlands, I used several Hema disposable cameras. The pictures ame out like pictures you see from the 70’s. It was amazing.

I have used some cameras here at home in Toronto, but one thing bothers me about getting the photos developed: the developing people don’t care. It can be costly to keep buying disposable cameras and getting the photos developed, so I try to make sure every picture count. It’s disappointing, then, when I take it to the shop and out of 27 pictures, I only end up with 10 or so. This only seems to happen here. Everywhere else I’ve taken photos to be developed, all of them turn out.

Maybe I’m just being fussy or maybe my camera skills aren’t as great as I think they are. Still, it’s upsetting that I put so much time and effort into this, and get indifference in return. Hopefully I’ll be able to find a good photo developer that will take their time and get it right.

Where have ten dollar bills gone? Every time I am supposed to get a ten back, I end up with two fives.

Where are you, darling Sir John A?
